If you thought your tax monies were being wasted in Washington, wait till you hear how the National Institutes of Health is spending your money. Fox News is reporting that the NIH will spend $2.6 million to make sure that Chinese prostitutes drink less on the job. Yes, you read that right! Researchers will visit one hundred whore houses, seven hundred prostitutes and one hundred and fifty pimps and madams. According to Fox, the NIH wants to take "a cold hard look at why prostitutes engage in dangerous sex while drunk." I assume that by "dangerous sex" they mean unprotected sex and the Greek variety.
Do they really need to spend millions to figure out why whores drink and then have risque' sex? Have these researchers ever been to a night club while in college or a beach during spring break. Men figured out a long time ago that the more alcohol they can get the girl to drink the better chance they will get "lucky." When people are drunk, their inhibitions are lowered and they do things that otherwise they wouldn't do. The first prong of the Chinese intervention program involves "gatekeeper training," which means teaching pimps and madams to enhance the culture of safe sex in their brothels according to Fox News. This sounds like a sex class in our liberal public school system.
Federal researchers are spending more than $400,000 in taxpayer money to cruise gay bars in Argentina where gay meet, consume alcohol and have sex. Their goal, as stated by the NIH, is to study and understand the various factors that contribute to the creation of high risk sexual ineraction. Let me spell this out for the government researchers: You have a room full of gay men that are drinking cocktails (no pun intended) and these men like to have sex with other men. What the hell do you think is going to happen....do you think they are going to sit around at the bar and watch the Golden Girls on the plasma. I could have just saved the NIH and the taxpayers $3 million with common sense. Liberals will blow (no pun intended) money on anything and everything all in the name of "caring" and "understanding."

The Hamas 'peace' gambit
This is a must read for anyone that thinks that the two-state solution is the simple cure for Israeli-Palestinian peace. On paper, the two state solution sounds like a fair accommodation that would result in long lasting peace. If you take a look at recent history, it appears that may not be the case. This is from the Washington Post writers group posted on the Jerusalem Post website.

"Apart from the time restriction [a truce that lapses after 10 years] and the refusal to accept Israel's existence, Mr. Mashaal's terms approximate the Arab League peace plan..." - Hamas peace plan, as explained by The New York Times.
The Times conducted a five-hour interview with Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal at his Damascus headquarters. Mirabile dictu, they're offering a peace plan with a two-state solution.
Except. The offer is not a peace but a truce that expires after 10 years.
Meaning that after Israel has fatally weakened itself by settling millions of hostile Arab refugees in its midst, and after a decade of Hamas arming itself within a Palestinian state that narrows Israel to eight miles wide - Hamas restarts the war against a country it remains pledged to eradicate.
There is a phrase for such a peace: the peace of the grave.
Westerners may be stupid, but Hamas is not. It sees the new American administration making overtures to Iran and Syria. It sees Europe, led by Britain, beginning to accept Hizbullah. It sees itself as next in line. And it knows what to do. Yasser Arafat wrote the playbook.
With the 1993 Oslo Accords, he showed what can be achieved with a fake peace treaty with Israel - universal diplomatic recognition, billions of dollars of aid and control of Gaza and the West Bank, which Arafat turned into an armed camp. In return for a signature, he created in the Palestinian territories the capacity to carry on the war against Israel that the Arab states had begun in 1948 but had given up after the bloody hell of the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
Mashaal sees the opportunity. Not only is the Obama administration reaching out to its erstwhile enemies in the region, but it begins its term by wagging an angry finger at Israel over the Netanyahu government's ostensible refusal to accept a two-state solution.
OF ALL THE PHONY fights to pick with Israel. No Israeli government would turn down a two-state solution in which the Palestinians accepted territorial compromise and genuine peace with a Jewish state. (And any government that did would be voted out in a day.) Binyamin Netanyahu's own defense minister, Ehud Barak, offered precisely such a deal in 2000. He even offered to divide Jerusalem and expel every Jew from every settlement remaining in the new Palestine.
The Palestinian response (for those who have forgotten) was: No. And no counteroffer. Instead, nine weeks later, Arafat unleashed a savage terror war that killed 1,000 Israelis.
Netanyahu is reluctant to agree to a Palestinian state before he knows what kind of state it will be. That elementary prudence should be shared by anyone who's been sentient the last three years. The Palestinians already have a state, an independent territory with not an Israeli settler or soldier living on it. It's called Gaza. And what is it? A terror base, Islamist in nature, Iranian-allied, militant and aggressive, that has fired more than 10,000 rockets and mortars at Israeli civilians.
If this is what a West Bank state is going to be, it would be madness for Israel or America or Jordan or Egypt or any other moderate Arab country to accept such a two-state solution. Which is why Netanyahu insists that the Palestinian Authority first build institutions - social, economic and military - to anchor a state that could actually carry out its responsibilities to keep the peace.
APART FROM BEING reasonable, Netanyahu's two-state skepticism is beside the point. His predecessor, Ehud Olmert, worshiped at the shrine of a two-state solution. He made endless offers of a two-state peace to the Palestinian Authority - and got nowhere.
Why? Because the Palestinians - going back to the UN partition resolution of 1947 - have never accepted the idea of living side by side with a Jewish state. Those like PA President Mahmoud Abbas, who might want to entertain such a solution, have no authority to do it. And those like Hamas's Mashaal, who have authority, have no intention of ever doing it.
Mashaal's gambit to dress up perpetual war as a two-state peace is yet another iteration of the Palestinian rejectionist tragedy. In its previous incarnation, Arafat lulled Israel and the Clinton administration with talk of peace while he methodically prepared his people for war.
Arafat waited seven years to tear up his phony peace. Mashaal's innovation? Ten - then blood.

I must admit that as I watched Wanda Sykes at the White House Correspondents Dinner, I did have a few chuckles with some of her jokes. The one about VP Biden giving classified information and torturing the terrorists just by the sound of his voice was a good one. Then there was the one about Obama and his nipples that was quite funny but then she crossed the line. Making fun of conservatives is fine until you start wishing death upon them and accusing them of being terrorists just because you disagree. The double standard that the media and this White House embraces is glaring.
Since Wanda Sykes has crossed that line with a no-holds-barred routine, I think I will try my hand in tasteless jokes with those I disagree. Mr. President, it is no wonder that your father left you and your mother when you were young, hell, look at your ears. Or maybe a little nastier-Since Ted Kennedy survived the wreck in which he killed Mary Jo Kopecne, I hope his brain cancer spreads to his rectum and kills him...slowly. And Barney Frank, man that guy is so gay, I hope he gets aids and a nasty case of fatal anal gonorrhea. I wonder if the President would have laughed it up after my routine. The media would have turned me and my family into public enemy number one and I would be destroyed.

Enhanced Interrogation Techniques and Pandora's box
In President Obama’s zeal to placate the MoveOn.org/George Soros wing of the Democratic Party is now coming back to bite them in the ass. The anti-America liberal wing has been pressuring the Obama Administration into a witch hunt of the Bush Administration since day one. Obama has acquiesced to their demands by allowing AG Holder to decide if charges are warranted for the alleged mass-torture by the Bush Administration. Former Vice-President Cheney’s call for the release of CIA memos that illustrate the success of the enhanced interrogation techniques was the first shot over the bow. It has now been proven that House Speaker Nance Pelosi lied about what she new and when she new it about the alleged torture of terrorists.
After initial denials, newly released documents prove that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was thoroughly briefed in September 2002 that CIA interrogators were water boarding terrorist Abu Zubaydah. Nancy Pelosi has lied about this knowledge from the very beginning and with good reason. If it were known that Pelosi signed off on the alleged torture, her liberal base would be outraged. The 10-page report, submitted to the Senate Intelligence Committee and other Capitol Hill officials Wednesday, refutes in considerable detail Pelosi’s statement last month that she was never told about the use of water boarding or other special interrogation tactics. According to the report, Pelosi was told of the techniques used against Zubaydah during a Sept. 4, 2002, meeting with intelligence officials.
Pelosi has said repeatedly that she was told only that the Bush administration had legal opinions that would have supported the use of such techniques. But CIA leaders have maintained that Pelosi and other Democrats who have been protesting recently about the use of enhanced interrogation knew about it all along. This shows the sharp contrast of liberal hypocarcy and the lengths they will go to harm our national security just to damage to George W. Bush’s legacy. Everything is political with these people even if it harms our war on terror and national security. Political power is more important than victory over radical Islam.
I think you will see this issue buried without much fanfare and much to the liberal wings dismay. Bush-Derangement Syndrome is still prevalent in the Democratic Party even after the victory of the Messiah. Will Pelosi face repercussions from her base because of the newly released memos? The simple answer is no. Liberals care not for truth but only for power and they will do anything to advance their cause. I would welcome such a debate and the importance of EIT and the American lives that were saved because of it. Liberals will trade American lives to retain power and control of the government and that is just plain sick!

Senator Specter has an appointment to keep in Samarra
After RINO Senator Arlen Specter bolted the GOP for his true home in the Democratic Party, Harry Reid has stripped him of his seniority on committee assignments. Specter claims that he and Reid had an agreement that would guarantee that his seniority would be retained. I take such delight in the fact that Arlen was double crossed after his hero welcome to his new party. The Democratic Party has been screwing Americans for years with their double speak and Arlen baby was not smart enough to see it happening to him. Harry Reid and the Democrats just showed their true colors and no one should be truly surprised.
Liberals in general are extremely loyal to their members and will defend them even against the most outrageous crimes and misdeeds. Harry Reid and Co. didn't really see Specter as one of their own, they just used him as a coup de grace against the Republican Party and if he caucuses with them, so much the better. Obama and others promised to campaign for Specter in the 2010 midterms, but I think you will see them go neutral and even back another Democrat in the primaries. Welcome Home Senator Specter! You are where you belong and you received everything that was coming to you. Arlen's predicament reminds me of an old epigraph.
A merchant in Baghdad sends his servant to the marketplace for provisions. Shortly, the servant (Specter) comes home white and trembling and tells him that in the marketplace he was jostled by a woman (GOP voters), whom he recognized as Death (defeat), and she made a threatening gesture. Borrowing the merchant's horse, he flees at top speed to Samarra (Dem Party), a distance of about 75 miles (125 km), where he believes Death (defeat) will not find him. The merchant then goes to the marketplace and finds Death, and asks why she made the threatening gesture. She replies, "That was not a threatening gesture, it was only a start of surprise. I was astonished to see him in Baghdad, for I had an appointment with him tonight in Samarra.

Soviet expansionism underway in Georgia
Soviet expansion still appears to be apart of Russian foreign policy. It is being reported that Russia was behind or in collusion with coup plotters in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia. According to the Georgian Times, the Georgian Interior Ministry states Russia had planned to organize a military uprising in various military divisions of Georgia. This uprising was supposed to coincide with NATO military exercises that are scheduled for May 6. Russia denies any involvement in the coup attempt and says the charges are "crazy." Georgian government officials have released video of the coup plotter stating he will have the backing of five thousand Russian troops in support of the coup.
Russian denials seem dubious when you recall the threat from Prime Minister Putin during last summers brief war with Georgia. With Russian tanks only 30 miles from Tbilisi on August 12, French President Sarkozy told Mr. Putin that the world would not accept the overthrow of Georgia’s Government. Putin seemed unconcerned by international reaction and went on to say “I am going to hang Saakashvili by the balls.” The French leader thought he had misheard. “Hang him?” — he asked. “Why not?” Mr. Putin replied. “The Americans hanged Saddam Hussein.”
The Russians are outraged with Georgia's attempt to join NATO and appeared ready to sabotage those plans with a coup during the month long NATO training exercises. It seems that President Obama's recent apology tour did nothing to satisfy the Russians and their Soviet expansion plans. Vladimir Putin smells weakness from the Obama Administration and will do as he wishes, knowing that Obama will do nothing. There has been no comment or concern from the White House about the coup attempt of our strategic ally. You would think that the potential disruption of NATO military exercises by Russian troops might elicit a response from the leader of the free world. The world is still waiting Mr. President
