A senior Defense Ministry official in Putin's regime is
calling for Russian military doctrine to include preemptive nuclear strikes on
the United States
and NATO. Gen. Yuri Yakubov was quoted
by a Nu-Soviet media outlet as saying that Russia ’s
2010 military doctrine should be revised to identify the United
States and the NATO alliance as enemies, and
clearly outline the conditions for a preemptive nuclear strike against them.
These are the people Hillary Clinton thought we could trust
and the same people Obama wanted to cater to in regards to missile defense. President Obama even ridiculed Mitt Romney
during the 2012 campaign about his concern over Russia ’s
“geo-political” threat. The Nu-Soviets
continue to use their strategic bombers to probe our defenses and just last
week two Russian bombers conducted practice cruise missile attacks on the United
States during a training mission.
This is not a time to be cutting our defense budgets. Russia
and China are
increasing their military budgets exponentially. Russia
in particular is taking militarization to an astonishing level. Russia 's
military funding has jumped a whopping 92% since 2010. Putin has promised to
build 24 new submarines in the next six years, which is both impressive and
unnerving. At present, the US
has about 71 subs, versus 61 for Russia .
The Obama White House announced in February that it plans to
cut our military to pre-World War II levels, which is unimpressive and
unnerving. Secretary of Defense Chuck
Hagel has indicated that the US
military can reduce spending and get smaller without losing its worldwide
presence. Hagel said that there is no
need for a force that can fight two wars at the same time; a US
military doctrine that has been a central premise of American strategy for at
least the last 2 decades.
At a time when Russia
and China are
building a bigger naval force in order to challenge the US Navy’s dominance of
the seas, the Obama administration is shrinking our naval capabilities. President Obama forced the early retirement
of the USS Enterprise (CVN 65) back in 2012 and also plans to decommission and
scrap six Ticonderoga-class cruisers and two amphibious ships. The Navy has reported that the six Ticonderoga-class
cruisers have 13-15 years of service life remaining and both amphibious ships
have 13-18 years of service life.
One of the newer cruisers, the USS Vicksburg (CG 69), which
cost approximately $1 billion to build, was scheduled to be decommissioned and scrapped
(still in service at present) in 2013. Commissioned
in November 1992, the guided missile cruiser was expected to be decommissioned
in 2027, after 35 years of service. According
to Vice Admiral Burke, “It would take a Navy of over 500 ships (Current fleet
is around 285) to meet the combatant commander requests. Of course it would
take a similar increase in aircraft.”
President Obama’s contempt for the military and his social
justice regulations that he has imposed on our soldiers is endangering our
national security. Even if a Republican
wins in 2016, it will take years and billions of dollars to fix what he
broke. It will take years to repair our
standing with our allies. It will take
years to purge the leftists that have infiltrated the government agencies,
which includes the Pentagon.
I know it’s cliché to say the next election is the most
important election ever, but the 2014 midterms and 2016 presidential election
may very well be the most important election in our lifetime. Let’s hope a majority of the American people
has truly realized the dangers of an Obama style regime and will instead vote
for the Republican ticket in the upcoming elections.
