Much like the Munich Agreement, the country that had the
most to lose was left out of the negotiations.
In 1938 it was Czechoslovakia that was left out of the process and it was
Israel that was thrown to the wolves in 2013.
The 1938 Munich Agreement was a settlement permitting Nazi Germany's
annexation of portions of Czechoslovakia along the country's borders mainly
inhabited by German speakers, for which a new territorial designation
"Sudetenland" was coined.
With the 2013 agreement with Iran the Obama White House has assured
the world that the few sanctions eased in the deal can be restored, and the
United States has vowed to keep the pressure on Iran over the next six months. The problem with this deal is the fact you
can’t trust the Iranians. The Iranians
were on the verge of economic collapse because of the biting sanctions, but
President Obama threw a lifeline to the mullahs and gave them a new lease on
life.
Obama wanted a deal with the Iranians so bad he was willing
to throw the Israelis to the lions.
Obama wanted to divert attention from his many domestic scandals and he
no doubt thinks this ‘peace in our time’ agreement will the Iranians will do
the trick. The Jerusalem Post said it
best today when they pointed out Obama’s military deterrence has been deflated and
his “administration’s credibility is too badly damaged in the region to cause
either Riyadh or Jerusalem to trust the White House’s assurances.”
The behind the scenes secret talks between the Obama
administration and the Iranians might well have been the final straw with Prime
Minister Netanyahu. Obama has thrown Israel
under the proverbial bus so many times during his five years in office I’m
surprised Bibi still communicates with this White House. Saudi Arabia and Egypt have already dismissed
Obama as an unreliable partner, but Israel is more reliant on U.S. military and
financial support than the other two nations.
Over six million unarmed Jews were murdered at the hands of a mad man during
the course of World War Two, simply because of the naivete of a western leader. Today six million Jews in Israel now find
themselves in the same danger; luckily, the Jews in the 21st century
have the ability and determination to protect themselves.
