"And when I'm president, I will go line by line to make sure that we are not spending money unwisely."
Senator Obama. September, 2008
How things have changed since candidate Obama became President Obama. In his first month in office, President Obama has presided over the largest government expansion the world has ever seen. Let’s not forget that as Senator, Obama requested over $740 million worth of pork barrel earmarks during his short tenure as junior senator of Illinois. Sen. Obama was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings, so none of this government expansion should come to any ones surprise.
Earmarking large sums of money to top supporters and fundraisers is a popular practice in both houses of Congress and to some degree both parties. Sadly, Obama followed a pattern of conspicuous allocations of federal funds during his time as senator. Mr. Clean handed a million dollar earmark to his wife’s employers in 2006 after which her salary increased from $121,910 a year to $316,962. Maybe that was just happenstance but I will let you be the judge.
In 2006, Senator Obama requested an earmark of $300,000 to replace the projector at the Adler Planetarium. In 2008, he requested $3,000,000 for the replacement of the projector system and some other equipment in the Sky Theater. On the surface, this may seem like typical pork requests for a member of congress, but let’s dig down a little further. The Chairman and two of the Vice Chairmen of Adler Planetarium Board raised $250,000 for Sen. Obama’s 2008 Presidential campaign. The Adler Planetarium was probably surprised when they found that their earmark increased by $2.7 million dollars.
The point that I am trying to make is that President Obama is just like Senator Obama but now he is on steroids. Obama just signed the $787 billion dollar pork riddled “stimulus” bill and congress just passed another $410 billion dollar bill that is infested with eight thousand, five hundred earmarks. It is now being reported that Obama is now asking for $634 billion as a down payment of what will be one trillion dollars to transform our health care system into a socialized system.
President Obama is a great orator, but I think he will be better remembered as a European-style socialist when it is all said and done. Is this what America voted for? The diehard liberal-socialist’s are happy campers at present, but I do think that the moderates that voted for Obama will wise up before 2012. I really think that with the socialist troika that is now in charge, it will be really tough to repair the damage in the event a conservative wins in 2012. Mr. President, you promised to cut the deficit in half in four years and all I can say is, good luck!

President Obama: Commander in Chief of Pork

I don't get how he'll cut anything in half. Will he set an in-stone tax plan to tax everyone who makes more than 40k a year an extra 17% for the next 100 years. That way, he can write everything off as technically paid?
ReplyDeleteAs outrageous of a scenario as that is, even scoring more "ridiculous" points for the 5 seconds it took me to make it up, it's even more ridiculous that if Obama said those were his plans, Pelosi would do jumping jacks and the admiring public would swoon and say "thank you."
America is in desperate need of a role model.
Josh, We are in trouble my friend and if we do not gain some ground in the midterm elections...Well, this country will be screwed beyond repair.
ReplyDeleteWho are your Reps and Senators where you live? We need to get behind as many conservatives running for Federal office as we can. We need to create a conservative firewall and block further damage after 2010.
I love how he said their were no earmarks in the pork bill he got passed. Oink!
ReplyDeleteCasey - there are more than American nazi's on that video post. There are documentaries about russia and other things. Pull down the window shades and stop crusing. How you ever gonna learn anything if you just cruise and go by window dressing. You probably voted for Bush. He played army too, but never saw any shit!
ReplyDeleteEuroYank, I realize that their is an increase of anti-semitism in Russia and other parts of Europe, but I didn't have to time to watch all of your posts. If that offends you, well I can't do much about that.
ReplyDeleteYes I did vote for President Bush (twice) and I am very proud of that fact. Pres. Bush was a trained F-102 fighter pilot in the Texas Air National Guard.
Eleven Air Guard squadrons entered active duty in Vietnam and 2 fighter squadrons (the 166th and 127th)were sent to S.Korea in light of the Pueblo incident.
Tread carefully when implying Bush "never saw shit" because he could have and would have in the event his squad had been called up. I realize you saw duty in Vietnam and I thank you for your service, but do not diminish the role of the guard and the role they played.
Casey - you need to check up on what you said. Bush was put on inactive duty and never would have seen combat. And I remember the role of the guard at Kent state. And being a fighter pilot and in the air force killing three million vietnamese and dropping agent orange is not the same thing as being on the ground as a combat medic! Also people like you always have time to write lengthy comments, but you never have time to research, and are typical REACTIONARY without the fact. Also when you someday have time look into DEPLETED URANIUM and the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF AMERICAN TROOOPS from the Gulf War POISONED by our own RADIOACTIVE MUNITIONS, I have a lengthy researched and documented post you GLANCED OVER. Do your homework!
ReplyDeleteAlso the documentaries about the Russian Nazis and the American Nazis on the video post say nothing about ANTI-SEMITISM. Its all about what is happening to the middle class AND MORE in both countries. Anti Semitism is NOT even mentioned!
ReplyDeleteIMPORTANT - check out this Bush link and info before you rattle off...

Smoking Gun On Bush
ReplyDeleteYou are such a genius with the Kings English. My first reaction to your diatribe is to respond in kind but I will not do that. I would normally delete your spunk that you wrote but I want other readers to witness your calm and rational thinking. A little advice-Lay off the meth and switch to a more mellow drug..maybe like weed or something.
ReplyDeleteMan, you sure have a lot of time on your hands. I hope they have socialized health care in Luxembourg
ReplyDeleteso you can seek some mental help.
See you in 30 thirty days!
I am a disabled vet with missing limbs on a respirator, that is why I have the time.
ReplyDeletealso I am well-known in military and social circles, and I plan to spend a lot of time who you are behind this blog of yours and especially now with you mental heath remark. Let's see what I can dig out about you, your ISP and your registration on this link!
ReplyDeleteGo for it! You want me to send you some of my DNA as well?
ReplyDeleteYou do not need to send me anything. I may send you something!
ReplyDeleteI can't help it. I have to ask, how much pork spending has John McCain submitted to Congress......EVER?
ReplyDeleteI'll wager not as much as Dr.O has in 30 days!
Its a Cracked World isn't it?
C.C. If I am not mistaken, McCain has never/or very little asked for any local pork. I am leaning that he that he hasn't, but I will check.
ReplyDeleteI will agree with your statement, it is a Cracked World that we now live.
I just noticed something, EuroYank and myself are both wearing sunglasses. Who would win a dual, Max Headroom or that guy from the Matrix? Stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteI would like to point out that EuroYank says that he is missing limbs and is on a respirator because he is a war vet. Well, by looking at his profile, he sure did a lot of stuff since Vietnam that would have taken limbs and some good breathing to accomplish. Could he have lost his limbs since Vietnam? Sure, but I am thinking something else.
ReplyDeleteI hire all my guns and my pick to pick you off is a guy that looks like you. Schmuck!
ReplyDeleteI am like the terminator Schmuck! But happy you are paying attention.
ReplyDeleteEuroyank: I don't see the point in coming onto someone's blog just to lay into them. And as far as making personal insults and threats in concerned, that's just downright childish.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it doesn't seem as though Obama has had much success in easing concerns about the alleged pork in his bill. I'm quite certain that all former administrations - Democrat or Republican - will have earmarked funds in one way or another during their time in office; and I'm sure it's a perfectly legitimate way on greasing the wheels in Washington. But to do so on this (alleged) scale in the middle of a financial crisis seems deeply troubling.
I'm still undecided though. Casey: looking forward to hearing your perspective on Netanyahu's appointment, and also Obama's timetabled withdrawal from Iraq. I find both pretty worrying!
Martin, Thank you for the comment. I will post something soon either on my blog or yours in regard to Bibi and his failure to form an "unity" government. HeHaw guy out!
ReplyDeleteI love the quote you mentioned, "...I will go line by line". How can you do that if you don't even read the thing!
ReplyDeleteExcellent blog. Thanks,
Sandy

Sandy, Obama is all words and most of them are hollow. He will not let promises get in the way of his agenda because he knows that the MSM will not call him out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by.
Sandy, If Obama would require his appointees to pay their taxes, he might cut the deficit in half.
